door over head light

ok i read the manual for my car and it says the center button for my overhead light is for the doors. but when i put it on and open the doors it dont come on... anyone know the problem???

i have that problem with my driver side door light, check the light and see if it's busted, then check to see if it's wired up good, any shorts in the wire or warn spots.
