Default Flashers Work/Turn Signals Don't

1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse. The Haynes manual diagrams indicates there is one flasher unit for both turn signals and flashers. So I am assuming I need to look elsewhere for the cause. Can the flasher unit fail such that I have flashers but no turn signals?

ETACS wasn't controlling that just yet, have you checked the hazard switch itself?

No I will ohm-out the Hazard Switch, also. It does appear from the wiring diagram that those contacts can fail in such a way that current is directed to the Hazard Flashers but not the Turn Signal circuit. But am I correct about the flasher unit?

The relay/control unit is built into the hazard switch on that car.

I did ohm out the hazard switch and the four contacts tested OK. However the turn signal switch in the combo switch did not test OK. I replaced it and it is working.

The hazard and turn signal relay are in one unit behind on the right side behind the stereo head unit. It's a black plastic box.
