Reverse Trigger Wire in 2016 Outlander
Hi everyone!
Who knows what wire is giving the signal that I put my car in reverse, to activate the backup camera? 2016 Outlander without Rockford Amp nor Navigation.
i was able to test all wires in the camera 8pin plug, and none of those did give the reverse signal, so it has to be either on the 18pin or 20 pin plug.
Many thanks! Bastian

The signal is a digital CANBUS signal from the ETACS to the audio unit. so you are not going to see anything without as fast oscilloscope, and then you would need to decode the waveform to work out if its correct or not.

Thank you so much for your answer! I guess that explains why I wasn’t finding “the wire” anywhere
I ended up upgrading to the iDatalink Maestro RR unit and that did the trick. Bit unfortunate that it added quite the cost, but I am happy everything works now.
happy new year
