Default What is the normal power draw, when parked?

Hi, people,
In a 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander XLS, 3.0 L V6,
there's a constant drain on the (Only five-month-old) battery.
It's an EverStart Maxx-24F lead acid unit with 750 CCA from Walmart.
This vehicle is rarely driven, nowadays. It often sits idle for a week at a time.
Sometimes 10 to 12 days, and that's when the vehicle won't start.
It's quite a Slow drain.
Three months ago, I went on a trip, and the vehicle sat for two weeks.
It started right up after that parked time. This problem is a new thing.

There's an online post that tells me how to Find the battery drain at:
HOW TO FIND PARASITIC DRAINS ON THE BATTERY - Automotive Wiring and Electrical
It involves an ammeter hooked up in series, between the negative battery terminal
and the disconnected negative cable. AND a jumper cable connected similarly.

Of course, Some electronics are a draw on the battery at ALL times.
That carjunky post says that any draw above 50 mA is a problem.
My test reveals that this vehicle is drawing 43.3 mA.
Still, that is apparently a problem.
The question: What should be the Normal draw on the battery when this vehicle is parked?
Thanks.

Well, I may have found the culprit.
Going thru each individual fuse in the engine compartment,
Fuse #30 (IOD) draws 19.8 mA. THAT's a Lot.
I have both the Technical Service Manual, and the Service Manual.
I find "IOD or storage container" mentioned in the SM, page 70-18,
but it doesn't tell me anything about what IOD is, or what it does.

WHAT is IOD?
Is it SUPPOSED to be drawing that much power, when the car is Parked?

Oh, crap. I also just found that fuse #31 (Audio Amplifier) draws 19.9 mA.
This XLS model has some Very Nice sounds: a 650-watt Rockford Fosgate system
with eight speakers and a 10-inch subwoofer in the cargo area.
THAT power draw Cannot be right when parked. But I Like This Stereo! It Sounds Great!
Crap. OK, HOW can I find a short in that stereo system? Any ideas?
Many Thanks, people.
Mark

Well, research indicates that IOD is Ignition Off Draw.
That is, the drain on the battery that exists when the ignition is off.
And 19.8 mA is allegedly OK. . . normal.

But that 19.9 mA draw from the Audio system cannot be right.
Anybody has a wiring diagram / schematic for this 2007 Outlander XLS?
Please?

Default Great help

I was just scrolling thru some write ups about the drains and I must say it sounds like you have this covered, and thank god for that cuz u sure didn’t get a finger lifted by any one here. One post and two responses, all by you! Guess that’s what forum are for; talk yourself thru it! Way to help out members

Well, thanks for the sympathy, Lessismor, but don't be too hard on the guys.
You're right, in that there is sometimes little or no response to a query.
But sometimes, they really get into the problem, and finding a solution.

THIS particular problem, though, is still haunting me.
When parked, I now check the voltage daily. Every other day, it gets to below 12,
so I hook up a small charger (14 VDC, 700 mA) overnight.
Kinda' like a Mickey Mouse fix, but it works for now.

STILL hoping that somebody can come up with a wiring diagram for this vehicle.

also await some help with similar issue. I discovered by taking the 40 amp fuse out(next to battery) that my stuff doesn’t drain. I also discovered that I have no brake lights! So then I put a switch between the fuse and fuse block. Now I no when my radio is on I have brake lights and door locks but it still a pain. Even though it is like an acc, I may wire it into the acc on the ign de. And u r right, sometimes they come thru shining on the forums, just seems like there should be a Walmart greeter to let you no your stuff made to post or something
