I have 2001 Galant Es with a keyless remote which controls doors locks only.
I believe Mits. started putting trunk release on keyless remotes in 2002. I have a keyless remote with a trunk release button and also have the trunk lock strike part, with unlock device that releases a part on the striker which pops open the trunk when you press the wireless button. Off a 2002 Galant. Can I hot wire in a trunk release off the 2001 Galant remote system. My factory remote is two button lock and unlock, I just happened to have a remote with extra button for trunk release. Thanks!
