Is the fuel filter internal or external? How offer should it be replaced?

 

usually its located right on top of the fuel pump. I know in a 2g eclipse its in the engine bay. But i dont know about the lancer. And as far as the service i guess something like 30-60k. There really isnt a scheduled maintenance on those
