I have a 1992 3000gt sl, the a/c compressor always squeals whenever I turn it on, but it would still blow out cold air so I figure its the a/c compressor clutch because I just replaced the belts on the car, but now the car is squealing all the time non-stop when the car is doing anything but idle, does anyone know how much it will cost to get the a/c clutch replaced? or if I can even get it replaced because my car uses the old r-12 coolant. Also, does the a/c compressor run off its own belt? I'm pretty sure it doesn't but if someone can tell me for sure that would be appreciated because if it does run off it's own belt I will just remove the a/c compressor until I can afford a new one.

it will have to be retrofitted from r12 to r134,
the ac belt also runs the alternator but you can bypass the ac and run just the alternator with a smaller belt. I have this belt available if you would like to go this route. Otherwise it could get costly.
