This is the same car. The VR-4 is the name they gave this car here in the USA. Probably so they would not confuse it with the Pontiac GTO. In Japan, the car was named the GTO. The only difference is the emblem (GTO vs. VR-4). VR-4 means Refers to the tranfer case that enables the 4-wheel drive. It stands for Viscious Realtime 4 wheel drive.

The only drawback in my opinion is the bomex body kit (I think its a bomex), but that is just personal preference.
Yes, the 94+ VR-4's did have 320 hp to the crank.
Judging from the front brake calipers, it is a VR4. The 2nd gen VR's and TT's said Mitsubishi on them.

They did not. The GTO (as it is known in Japan) ran the same 9b's that we have. The Euro version ran something else. 13T's or something, but I don't recall the nomenclature. The MR version was lightened and tuned a little more than the JDM GTO, but I believe the turbos were still 9b's.
