I am looking at a 1993 3000 gt vr4 twin turbo,am very close to purchasing this vehicle,it has approx 94,000 miles on it and looks in very mint condition. it is also all wheel drive,and i was told it has all wheel steering,is this correct?Also have seen many questions and complaints about tranfer case and transmission in general,please advise me is this a good vehicle or am I letting the awsome looks blind me to some real future problems.

 

I know that 94+ is all wheel steering, not sure about 91-93 though. I would guess yes, but don't quote me on that.

 

Yep the 1st Gen's have 4WS too! The life of the transmission and Xfer case depend greatly on how the car was driven and what type of maintenance it has received. If it appears to be highly modified and previously owned by someone who drove it like it was stolen- be weary of it. If it is bone stock and well maintained- start bargaining! Either way- have it inspected by a 3rd party for peace of mind.
I bought my 92 Pearl White VR4 with roughly 103K on the ODO. All of the maintenance was performed by local dealerships with all the paperwork. I haven't had to put anything else into it as far as repairs. All of my add ons have been upgrades

Yes 91-92 have AWD and AWS.

Their is a recall on the transfercase if their is any leaking they have to reseal/replace as required.

 

AWS it was a option in 94+, standard in the 91-93 tt models. I have a 92 R/T tt, with a 95 engine and drivetrain forsale.
