Default 3000GT vs Supra

Ok not sure if this has been posted but i tried to search and i looked through maybe 10 pages and i couldn't find it so yea. My question is what makes the supra have such a lower 0-60 time then a 3000gt. I am using a 97, non-turbo, and DOHC version of both for the comparisons. I know that the supra is rear wheel drive but does that make that much of a differnce. Does it have to deal with the tranny gear ratios? Now the supra does have about 2 more hp and 5 more torque then the 3000gt and weighes only about 50lbs lighter but does it matter that much. Anyway i am just wondering and if this has been posted before just post a link.

actually the vr-4 has more power then the supra tt, and a vr-4 is awd so no wheel spin like in a supra. base models however i dont really know couse the are both 2wd and slow lol

I WILL SAY THIS ANY AWD CAR WILL BEAT ANY TWO WHEEL DRIVE CAR.

I SEED A STOCK VR-4 BEAT A VIPER.
LIKE davidmitsusrock SAID NO WHEEL SPIN

The VR4 is faster stock vs stock than the Supra. NOT a Viper though. lol. but after a little $$$ the Supra gets faster and stays a little more reliable...but its also a ghey fanboy car and I hate them...lol. LATE

actually, stock for stock, VR4 vs TT, the VR4 will win only because it has AWD, but the Supra has TOP END where as the VR4 has more midrange power, and kinda dies at the top
If I had to pick between VR4 and TT 6 Speed Supra, id get the TT 6 Speed Supra.
WHY!?
because its
#1,Toyota (sry guys I love them)
#2 With same amount of money in aftermarket goodies, the Spra will KILL
#3 lighter than VR4s
#4 targa top (love that)
#5 moe respected

but back to ur main question, non turbo to non turbo, who knows!

N/A vs N/A ....that's like caring who would win the special olympics. To answer your question though, go try and pull a bookcase, then try to push it, see which is easier. It's easier to push the weight, Hence the reason RWD is more effective than FWD. Turbo vs Turbo yer looking at AWD vs RWD though where obviously the AWD would get traction better off the line. I love Supras, the 2JZe is an awsome motor that has been proven again and again, and I think they look great as well. You get more bang for your buck with a Vr4 though unless you want a car that runs 10's or under. You can get a Vr4 with under 100k and make it run 11's for the same price of a stock supras with over 100k on it in most cases.

Later,
Gabber
