3rd Gen vr-4 Q?

RE: 3rd Gen vr-4 Q?
Shouldn't it be...91-93 - 1G and the 94-99 - 1Gb?
Kind of like the Eclipse/Talon/Laser 90-92 - 1Ga, 93-94 - 1Gb. The changes were cosmetic and more noticeable are the headlights. Then the body style changed and is considered 2G and even those have A and B sub gens. The only changes there were the kit and wing.
Same with the Avenger/Sebrings. 95-96 are 1Ga and 97-00 are 1Gb. 2007s are 2G...follow me?
So, why are the 3kgt labled differently? If they come out with another 3kgt with a different body style, shouldn't that be considered a 2G and not a 3G? The theme to the gens are the body styles and not the cosmetic changes. I'm just wondering...

yeah i totally know what your getting at..the deal with the Z cars... and the rx7's. make it much easier to denote generations...guess it comes down to what is accepted as a new generation of car.. a front bumber, different wing only on one particular model, a sail panel, and some headlights and a black thing on the backi woulndt consider that a new generation..but if i have to say mine is a 3rd gen vr-4 im fine with that.
