RE: 6G72 MIVEC
There is also a Japanese Market vehicle that had a 3L MIVEC engine. I've seen them on EBAY. I think it had 250+hp stock. From what I remember of the pictures, it looks to be back asswards from the way a 3S is configured. I have not heard of anyone trying to put one in a 3S, it would be original. You thinking about a swap?
MIVEC is just Mitsu's version of variable valve timing (ala' Honda's vtech).

RE: 6G72 MIVEC
Well, I just blew my rear main seal and it has kinda pissed me off and I was just looking. I have a SOHC and I hate not having any power, but it is dumb in my opinion to go and buy a $4,000 supercharger instead of a new DOHC motor with 2 turbos. Anyway, I am very confused about my car. If someone walked up and gave me the $15k that I owe on it, I would go get the title from the bank and sign it over to that person. On the other hand, if I found a used DOHC motor for dirt cheap, I would replace my motor and keep it.
I like the fact that Mitsubishi's are very easy to work on. I blew my rear main seal, and all you have to do is pull the tranny. That is awesome. It sucks that I glazed over my clutch though because of the oil leaking into my tranny. I bought an exedy stage 1 plate and I will use my stage 3 pressure plate. I hope it works.
