Default 95 3000 GT dying while driving a/c off and on

Hey all, Sorry about the new thread, but I can't find anything like this.

I just inherited and 95 SL with 94,000 miles on it. Just had an alternator replaced because the battery was losing charge as I was driving. I'd have to rev the engine when stopped in hopes of keeping the car running. The A/c also wasn't working right as it would turn on at different times and just not work other times.

Fast forward until today, A/c has been on the blink, again. Literally, the green a/c button is blinking. I looked it up. Would that be what killed the car again? To me, the car dying while driving and A/c no working right have to be related. Please note I'm not talking about freon, it was just refilled. I was driving and the emergency brake light was dim, but on. Then the anti-lock, then the battery... that's when I noticed the headlight dimming. Looked at battery Voltage and it was tanking again. Luckily I was able to coast on into the driveway.

My long time mechanic passed away recently. He was a grumpy old guy but knew his foreign cars. Walked away from a dealership because of morals. Always a fair dude. RIP to Jerry. He would've squashed this. Now I need to know what to look or listen for. I know the a/c was making a chirping noise for a while.
Would it be wiring that's messed up? I notice previously installed amp is also touch and go. Surely it's electrical. Right?

Thanks in advance for reading.
