Exhaust Noise?
I have a'98 3000 GT,6 cly. DOHC engine. I would like to add a new muffler or exhaust system mainly for a deeper richer sound, faster would be better too. I don't want a fast and furious type sound but louder and deeperone . I'd need to stay in a budget. Any ideas? Thanks

You could also try stock VR4 or R/T tt exhaust. This is mine with out cats.

This is what you do if you are on a limited budget. Pick out the tips that you want. (I went on ebay) Then go to a muffler shop and have them weld a custom bent CAT BACK exhaust. The shop should only charge you about $150.

Oh, look at my cardomain account in my signature. The tips are off an aftermarket covette exhaust set up. The guy wanted the borla exhaust, but wanted the stock tips on it, so he sold the tips. The tips only cost me $80.

captbubba3 There are a few sites you can check out. You can aways keep you stock piping, honestly replacing it dont make much if any noticeable difference its a N/A. You could always get a nice high flow cat, or take the cats out, and get a nice set of just mufflers. Mufflers can be cheap so if you dont like the sound try another set. Hope that helps

In the N/A 3000gt, a little back pressure isn't bad. Besides... You are not trying to spool up a turbo, so there is no reason (unless you have more than 350-400 hp) to hollow out cats and put 3" piping and no mufflers.
