Yes I definitely agree with you. I think that how powerful a motor is is all in who is working on it. I think that the 6g72TT is the EASIEST and cheapest engine to work on and get power gains but yes the 4g63 is pretty nasty and can lay down a patch on somebody's face. I think that the only thing holding up the VR4 is its weight. At 3800lbs it takes a lot to get it moving. That is one reason I went with base and am going to do a full TT Engine Swap in the near future. Save about 550lbs without any weight reduction is not too bad. Although it is FWD which means lots of further tuning to the suspension and engine bay etc is needed to get the engine to lay that power down on the road. Good clean discussion.

really what it comes down to i think is what is proven to be the fastest and that is the 4g63. If you can find a faster time than the evo's put down at the track from a 3s then your lying because it hasnt happened. And i dont know where your getting the 5.1's from evo's because with very light mods (and i mean like maybe $500) they will easily put down a 4.8

 

Yea I know but I meant bone stone doing 5.1's. I mean a bone stock 97 VR4 will hit 60 in 4.8 but yea I agree that the 4g63 has been used to power the fastest mitsu however I think the 6g72TT could be coaxed to contend after getting that VR4's weight down about 6-700lbs hahaha.

there was a euro spec 3/s? i did not know this...sebba can prolly answer those questions...

 

yeah the euro spec came with 13g turbos rather than the 9gs and i belive some diff kind of tranny so it would perform better at high speeds on the autobahn... i was wondering if anything else was different,.,
