Just how inportant is it to run with high octane fuel in a VR4 Turbo?

it will cause detonation problems if you run cheap fuel

The ECU will compensate for low octane fuel by pulling the timing a bit. You will lose alot of performance using low octane. Spend the extra 6 bucks/tank and put the proper fuel in your car. It will love you for it.
