Default Help modding a 97 3000GT SL

Hi all,

My brother bought a '97 3000GT SL with about 110,000 miles. The car seems to be in decent condition and he just had it to a mechanic for brakes, clutch and a timing belt. He knows jack about cars but wants to make it go faster. I own a supercharged Mustang as well as a worked 06 STI, but I know nothing about the 3000GT and what mods it responds best to. I drove the car and it felt like my wife's Nissna Altima was faster. I have no idea where to even begin with it and I don't want to waste his money.

What is going to be the best bang for the buck mods? Intake? Exhuast? He was babbling on about supercharging it (turbo would be more realistic, correct), but with 110,000+ on the clock I don't see that as being a good idea. I want to help him out, so what do you guys suggest. Thanks.

How in the world is that website supposed to help me? I am looking for people that own a N/A 3000GT to give me some advice. Pointing me to a reatiler of aftermarket parts doesn't really help.

But also keep in mind 3sx is hella expensive man. Do your research and you can find most of the stuff on ebay. Also the only out of the box cat back system for the NA engine is from borla for close to $800 and it is only a 2.0" cat back system. You can do your own custom cat back exhaust for @250 including parts and labor Shoot it's what I did. Take a look:
