Default I need lots of help with my car haha

Ok heres the problem. The other day i heard my ehaust note change and a first i didnt think anything of it so kept driving. Now within a couple of minutes ago i just checked to see if anythin happened and sure enough something did. Now Sorry im a lil slow when it comes to cars i know more bout motorcycles then i do cars. If it helps let me describe it to you. Coming from the engine there loks like what would be filters going around the exhuast now theres a little one and a big one. Now the big one is what came off and is acutally kinda hangin. I am trying to figure out the name of the part i would need to place that. I wasnt sure if I would ned the full headers or what. If you guys can help me with this id be very thankful. Also if you guys coiuld help me with on how to replace it. The best way to do that. Thank you very much

Haha I am not sure . Like i said im a lil stupid bout cars. Im learing but this is my first car so that doesnt help eitehr haha. So im not sure i kno if you we're coming from the front of the car there are to pipes covered with something that loks like a filter. The first one is directly under the engine and the second one is a lil behind the engine maybe within a foot of the engine. It also have a filter loking thing on it and thats the part that is completely off on one side of the connection.

whenever you rebuild a motor or do a swap whoever does it needs to make sure do pressurise and prelube the engine or else there could be contaminants that could potentially cause overheating...thats just a rough guess but i have seen it happen before...or it could be something as little as you air/fule ratio is off

If you can OP, take a pic of what you're talking about.
I'm thinking pre cat, flex pipe, and catalytic converter. It sounds like the cat may have rusted off to me.
In other words, OP, your exhaust note just got louder and nastier? lol.

Turbosprentice, your issue isn't really related to this topic.
If, you would, start a new thread so that you can get more responses.
I'm going to say to check all your fluids. Check the obvious thing, your coolant. It may have not been removed of all air pockets.

3000gtizzle, air/fuel mix is something big bro, not little, lol. I know what you meant, I'm just messing with you.

Does it look like one of these "braided" looking sections?

You could take it to a muffler shop and have it replaced, that would probably be cheaper than a new downpipe. You may want to take a look at your engine mounts. They could be worn, actually, if they've never been replaced, they are worn out.

My first guess would have been a blown out cat....
