Default JDM VR4 motor swap help

Into a 1996 3000gt. the motor came witout the turbos,so ill have low compression pistons with no forced induction, anyone know around how much it would cost to turbo it and would it run better turboed?

And if it has low compression pistons does that mean i could use a big shot of nitrous

low compression = slower. you should have just gotten an n/a engine, or a vr4 engine with the turbos.

In all honesty, I would sell it and get an n/a engine. You can probably sell that engine for around $1200-$1500 depending on the mileage, etc. and you can pick up an n/a engine for around $800-1000, depending on the mileage, year, etc, etc.

you can get stock vr4 turbos and manifolds for a decently low price if they are used. it would run a lot better with turbos cuz it was built for boost. without turbos it would not have much power due to lower compression. nitrous can be used but it wears out your engine faster. if you want good n/a power and torque go with the 6g74 (3.5 litre) engine. it is a direct drop in to the n/a 3000gt with a little modification to the exhaust due to higher deck height and the heads are alittle farther apart cuz of that. my buddy has the 3.5 in his 94 3k and it is fast. but if you do the 6g72tt swap then it would be alot better to have turbos. or what you could do is do a single turbo install on it and it would be beasty as heck
