Default Just acquired a 3000GT

Yesterday I traded my 1998 Eclipse GST for a 1994 3000GT base model with 109,000. The car is great, but it has some maintenence issues that I have questions about. I'm pretty sure it needs a new ball joint becuase it makes a clicking noise when I go over a bump, so I pretty much have that one figured out.

Another issue is a tapping coming from the trans. When I push the clutch in, the sound goes away. The car has a ACT2100 with a 6 puck disc and fidanza flywheel. The previous owner said it was the throwout bearing.

Also, the car runs well, but idles like crap, and will almost stall, until I turn on the air conditioning. It makes the motor idle higher, but is much smoother. The car has stalled twice when I was driving without the a/c on. Any ideas?

And 5th gear likes to pop out. Is that an easy fix or a bit involved and expensive?

i have the same kind of clutch and the car makes the same noise. i thought it was a bearing at first but someone told me that these clutches chatter and thats the noise your hearing, thats the case for me im not sure if its the same for you. the reason why i know its not a bearing in my case they were replaced when the clutch was replaced about 1k miles ago.

i think the eclipse was a better car i mean 4 yrs newer and turbo. turbo eclipses are faster then non-turbo 3000gts.
