Need help to buy wheels
Title should be self explanatory. I was at a mall on Saturday when, long story short, exiting the parking lot I was given the choice of having some jack off in a Mustang smash into my right, or have my left two wheels go over a median. I chose the median, and bent both my left wheels. *sighs* So I bring my car into my uncle's shop, and he comes out to take a look. All he can say is "HOLY ****" when he sees the wheels.
Obviously, replacements are necessary. I can't get around without my car, as there is not even a bus stop nearby. So I have to keep driving it. Apparently it is only a matter of time until both the left tires blow out and I get spun into a wall on the freeway. So my uncle makes some phone calls, and he can't find any replacement OEM wheels anywhere, except from Mitsubishi itself - for $350 per OEM wheel. For that kind of money I can get a full set of wheels I actually like.
So here I am, asking all of you what wheel sizes a 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT SL can take. I know nothing about wheels except to say the bolt pattern is 5 x (what I have heard is 4.5 inches). That's all I know. But I want to get bigger wheels than the standard 16 inch. So I guess my real question is, what do I need to know to be able to get the right wheels for my car? Offset, spacers, etc etc I don't know ANYTHING about any of that. So....help? Thanks.

RE: Need help to buy wheels
Mine was a 97 and it has 17" stock wheels on it. There's a place on 3si.org where you can get a whole set of replacement wheels for about $800, and you can buy them seperately as well. I can't remember what it was called, but they're great replacements, even better made than the stocks.
