Default Radio help

All right I did a forum search and couldn't come up with any answers for this one, as simple as it is.

A few weeks ago I was changing my sparkplugs and as such disconnected my battery. In turn, this disurpted and "broke" the radio. I knew this would happen, but getting the sparkplugs changed was dire and I could afford to only do it myself. So now, I turn on the radio and it says "CODE".

So my question is simply how do I make the radio start working again? Do I need to take it into the dealership (bleh) and have them fix it, or is it something I can do myself? Or maybe someone who KNOWS about auto audio/electronics could handle it? Anyway.....please help. Driving me crazy not being able to listen to my music while driving.

Thank you, in advance.

The dealership should be able to help but I'm sure they'll charge an arm and a leg for it. I'll ask my buddy who had the same problem with his car and get back to u.

Your raido needs its security code. Try calling a dealer and see if they'll help. Rockville Mitsu in maryland is normally willing to look the codes up.

the code is in the owners manual if you have it ( i think its on some type of "card" if not its in the book) ...otherwise you have to call mitsu and deal with it that way

oh and i know exactly how you feel.... this happened to me the day before i was trading my old car in because i uninstalled the system which meant the battery was disconnected which then meant i also got "CODE" displayed on the radio ....luckily i was heading down to the dealership the next day....and when they asked why it suddenly said code ...i told them its a common problem on 2000 eclipse's and there was a recall on it .... and then i told them all they had to do was call mitsu and ask for the code and theyd give it to them no problem ( which is true, but earlier that day I called mitsu, and they told me to access the code there is a fee if i dont have the cards that came with the om ) .....they bought the whole thing.... and i drove off with my new car ....oh and they paid for my dinner that night too !

Haha that's awesome. Yeah my radio works now, I took care of it. I was definitely missing the whole REASON for the SL over the base 3000GT: the 400-watt premium Infinity sound system.
