Default Sideview Mirrors Resetting?

I'm having an issue with my sideview mirrors. Whenever I set them to the preference that I need, they just end up resetting back to the original setting after a couple days and I have to recalibrate them. This get a little dangerous when I realize this seconds before changing lanes on a freeway. This is for a 1992 Mitsubishi 3000gt auto. Any ideas on how to solve this problem, short of getting raped by a mechanic?
