The capacitors will start leaking on the computers (ECU, ECS, etc.)

 

Are you sure that the capacitors will start leaking, or is it just a common problem? I'm scheduling atime to go see the car, so I'll ask him about that. He said that he had the full maintenance done at 60k and the car looks like it's in good shape. What other problems are you aware of that I should look for?

 

Yes, if the capacitors haven't been replaced, they will start leaking. It costs a couple hundred bucks to have them replaced.

Other than that, just check it out like you would any used car. Check the condition of all the fluids, check for oversprayed paint, kick the tires, etc...

 

Hmmm, the capacitor issue in the 1G 3k/Stealth is the same in the 1g Eclipse/Talon/Lasers. Good one Mitsubishi. Well, at least they're consistant, lol.
