I was wondering, what is the difference between the 1997 and up VR-4's and the lower, how do they run 4 tenths quicker in the quarter mile, is wieght different..gears..ec...?? If a 99 is running a 13.6-13.8 1/4 mile stock what can i do to get it to a 13 flat, how much horse will i get out of like exhust, downpipe, boost controller, air intake, pulleys and any other minor performance mod other than nitrous.....what mods should be the first to do. I used to have a 1994 VR-4 and it ran good prob around a 13.8 stock...but if the 1997 models and up run better than i am going to try and get one of them.

 

The first generation of the 3s (stealth's and 3kgt's) had 300 hp + the additional weight of AWS and active aero. The later generation (94+) ommitted the the AWS and aero and had 320 hp. I believe the introduction of the Getrag 6 speed also had something to do with ET's.
