I just replaced the compressor on my 1992 Diamante (DOHC engine) because the old one was making lovely noises at me. Now, for whatever reason, the compressor will not cycle. It turns on a few seconds after I start the car like it's supposed to, and if I leave the climate control in Auto mode it won't turn the compressor on if it's cool enough not to need it. In fact, the whole system is working just like it should, except that the clutch won't cycle on and off; it just runs and runs unless I push the switch on the control panel to turn the A/C off. Before I replaced the compressor, it would always cycle normally. Any ideas?

 

Never mind, I figured it out. Seems this particular compressor, for whatever reason, is not supposed to cycle on and off. Don't know why, but it's working just fine.
