So - I have an issue of the fan working at low speed for 5 to 10 minutes, then quitting, until I turn it all the way to high.

Is this the relay I need to replace inside the heater box by the fan? or does this sound like a fan motor issue?

Also - can someone explain to me what happens when i adjust the temperature say from 68 to 86 degrees? How do I ensure mine is working properly?

Sounds to me like the contact in the HVAC controls. Probably just a weak contact behind the ****.
