My 2004 Diamante has an unusual problem which I am having trouble getting diagnosed.

When the car has been driven for a while so it is at normal operating temperature, then is shut off for about 20-30 minutes, when it is restarted it will idle erratically and sometime stall. If I press on the gas to hold the idle at about 2000 rpm for 5 seconds it will return to normal. To complicate things further, it only occurs during warm weather greater than 60 degrees Fahrenheit.

To date the dealer has cleaned the fuel system and has replaced the IAC motor, the car never puts out any codes after having the problem.

Can anyone provide insight into the cause of this problem?

sounds like a fuel delivery issue which wont trip codes.....

 

Try to check the fuel pump or replace your fuel filter for an easy fix.
