Default 2004 Diamante issue and parts finder?

First the issue:

- When I idle the temperature gauge will slowly peg to Hot(red) no increase in RPM and the AC will blow hot.
-- The fan does turn on.
-- When I am moving the gauge returns to normal

Anyone know what would cause this?

Parts Finder:

- I am looking for a passenger side head light assembly that is not 800-1000.00 +( used ). I really only need the cover ( its broken ) as the headlight works.

-- Anyone know of a good place for this? I've litterally been looking for over 6 months.

Any and all help is appreciated.

Thanks

Both FANS turn on? As there are TWO

And your getting good coolant flow through the coolant lines?

I cant say I hear two fans, I hear fan or fans come on is there a way I can see the fans? Where are they located?

Coolant.... I thought about this, I assumed that the coolant was getting to the system since the temperature went back down when the engine was being used more ( ie moving ).

There are two fans side by side between the radiator and the engine. Each has its own cowling. You can easily see when they are on or off.

It may be that the Thermostat is marginal and therefore not allowing full flow. But to your point that's why I ask if BOTH fans are operational.

Sorry for the delayed response...

Right side fan is not blowing. So you nailed that.

Any ideas on how I can fix that?

If you have electrical knowledge you can check to see if power is getting to that fan at the connector and if so, the fan motor may have failed. If power is not getting to the fan then you need to look upstream for sensors, relays, or fuses blown. I have not specifically done any troubleshooting of a Diamante fan.

But I would start at the fan and see if providing power to the fan directly powers it up. Like I say, if it does, its not the fan itself but a fuse, relay, or sensor keeping power from getting to it.
