Hi,
I'm hoping to find some help with my Diamante. I thought the battery had gone bad or the alternator wasn't charging because the starter was having trouble turning the motor over and when I put jumpers on it would start. I replaced the battery with a brand new battery like it is supposed to have and the car will not even turn over. Should I replace the starter or is there some other piece of electronics between the starter and the battery that will cause this problem????
Thanks in advance.

My guess is that it is the starter or its solenoid.
However I would first check that the cable connection to them is OK.
You wouldn't want to buy a new starter and then as you go to fit it find the cable connection is loose!!!
Good luck.

hello! you need to get a test light and connect it to the starter solenoid and when you try to start it, the test light should light up. if it doesnt, then backtrack to the starter relay or the ignition switch. i have seen many starters on diamante SOHC motor go bad due to oil leaking from the valve coversdripping onto the starter. oil leaking can also take out the alternator on the other side of the engine. good luck!! greg
