On my 2002 diamante the cupholder that pops out of the front of the center console works perfectly but the cupholder facing the rear passengers does not stay in the closed position. You push it in and it simply pops out. This forces me to have to hold the rear cupholder mechanism in so I can operate the latch to Open the console Bin to get inside. The rear cupholder mechanism is linked to the Console Latch so if the rear cupholder is open it wont let the latch work.

So this is getting frustrating.

If anybody has diagnosed the rear cupholder mechanism and the best way to service it, I would appreciate some guidance.
