Default Starting problem

I have a 92 Diamante. I just started having trouble starting it. It will begin to start and then I hear a clicking (like a relay) and it shuts off. After several tries it will finally start and stay running if the RPM is higher. After a little bit will stay running even at idle and will run fine and restart fine until it sits for a while. Anyone have a problem like this before?

sounds like an alternator to me, not positive though it might be having trouble charging your battery until it actually starts (remember 18 year old car 18 year old parts)

The problem turned out to be my ecu. It finally wouldn't start at all. Fuel and injectors were not firing. checked out the MFI relay, fuel pump. All good. Popped in a used computer I picked up a fewyears ago and started right away. thanks for the help.
