Default Convertible Top & Windows Issue

Hi! I have a 2003 Eclipse Spyder. Twice in the past 6 months I have had to replace the brake lights on the drivers side. Now, my convertible top and rear windows won't work. I have taken it to a dealer and $300 worth of diagnostics later, they couldn't find the problem. The weird thing is, they will suddenly start working again! Then, a few weeks later, they die, again. Obviously some sort of short but the dealer can't find it and I haven't found anyone else in the area even willing to look at it!

Has anyone experienced this before? I appreciate any input!

Default 2003 Eclipse Window Problems

Hi, I just bought my car this past January 17th after smashing up my Hyundai Accent.

You have probably already been asked this but is it possible your hitting the window lock and not knowing it. I know I have. I'm still reading the manual and finding out new things and that was one of them.

Hope this helps.

Check to see if you have pinched one of the wires to the manual switch. I did that and shorted out the convertible control box.
