Default 05 Endeavor dome light stays on

Hi, I have a 2005 Mitsubishi endeavor limited V6. The dome lights work but stay lit up constantly when in "door" & "on", they stay on 5 min or 5 days if the switch isn't in the office position.. They turn off in "off" . I changed the switch on the driver door jamb. That didn't change anything. The "door open" light in instrument cluster turns of when the doors are shut like it should. The hazard lights and turn signals also work as they should. I've tried to research causes, and mostly I see the etac thing. It doesn't have any alarms or anything aftermarket. When I unlock the car with the key fob remote, the interior doesn't light up either. But I'm guessing that's because I have the dome light switched to "off" so it isn't constantly on draining my battery. Has anybody else heard of similar problems with an endeavor? Could you please help me diagnose it? so I don't just keep replacing good parts. Thank you for your time and help.
A little history 2005 Mitsubishi endeavor limited V6 105,000 miles.
Also. To add to what has been done. There were a couple broken wires in the driver door harness in the boot in door jamb between drivers door and car. The harness was removed and all broken wires were repaired. 3 wires were broken in total. That fixed a issue I had with door locks not working intermittently with key fob. Now all is good with the door wiring harness.
But the dome light issue remains the same. They stay on if the switch is in "on" or "door" position and weather the doors are open or closed and weather the car is running or shut off. If the switch is put in the off position, the dome lights turn off.. I really would like the dome lights/courtesy lights to work when the key fob is pressed to unlock the doors and or the doors are opened to get in or out of the vehicle.
I'd really appreciate any help.
Thank you

Hi. Have you checked the wiring/switch 'at' the dome light/
Try the simple things first, before digging into computer, etc.
Need to find out where it's getting power from.
But, yeah, sounds like an issue with comp module or wiring there..
Best. let us know what you find.

The switch is good... All of the interior lights don't come on. There's lights down above the driver's and passenger feet that don't light up. The dome lights don't come on (unless turned to "on", but in door mode they don't come on at all. And off obviously they don't come on.) I've replaced all of the door jamb switches.
What is the computer called that controls the lights on these called? Etacs or something like that.... I think that might be the cause.... Unless someone else can point me in a different direction of maybe a relay that controls all the interior lights?

It is in fact called the 'timing comp/module'. Controls immobilizer, security and timing of lights.
Located under steering wheel/panels.
Since you've checked door switches, may well be a fault there.
Search the web for pinout schematic.
Keep us posted.
Best.

Is it the same thing that is on the back side of the fuse panel? Is there a company that repairs the modules?

Hi. It's been a few years,can't remember.
Below steering column,to left.
Don't think it's right behind fuse block. It actually has a label ,ETA..?
Repairs? Don't know but.
, places that do repairs for Computer and ABS modules should be able.
I got mine from a recycle yard.
Best.

Thank you for replying to me. I appreciate the information. I'll probably try o used one off eBay if I can find one for a good price and if they at least give me a guarantee that it's a fully working module. Do you by any chance have a picture of where it is located or what it actually looks like, from when you did yous? The diagrams I keep finding make it look like it's in the front of the fuse panel. That can't be right... No worries if you don't.
Thank you again

When it comes home,I'll look.
*Be aware, you will have to get it reprogrammed. Remotes and keys. Otherwise, you'll have no start and flashing lights,alarm...

Ok. Thank you. I know I'll have to reprogram my remotes. I found instructions on how to do that part. Just wish these modules were more readily available. Lol.
