Default 2004 Endeavor: Misfire Help

First time post on the forum. I am trying to help a coworker with her daughters car. 2004 Endeavor with 257k on the od. They are trying to keep it going, so I volunteered to see if I could help.

Problem #1 - CEL for a misfire/coil failure for cylinder #4.

Engine was obviously missing. Swapped coils. Problem followed the coil.

Replaced coil. Engine much smoother. CEL for now a simple misfire. Checked coil connector - cleaned it. Erase code and turned on the CEL withing a few minutes.

Will pull the plug and take a look. They have run many thousands of miles like this. So I am not sure if I have a plug/injector issue or perhaps a bad ground/wiring issue with this wire).

Any other thoughts?

Problem #2 - The water in HVAC / Blower Motor issue

Pulled the TSB-09-55-002 and read the posts here. Believe the blower is fried from the drain being blocked and plenty of wet carpet on the passenger side.

Should I evacuate the A/C system and pull the dash or does this TSB at least help the issue with periodic maintenance? Or, must this be done in conjunction with the Cabin Filter for a longtime fix?

Thank You.

Frank

Default Update: CEL Cleared

CEL Cleared and after a short drive, remains cleared.

The coil was indeed bad.

I assume the ECM needed to re-adjust.

Car passed inspection - on to the blower motor issue.
