I have a misfire cylinder #3. changed injector, coil twice, spark plug well seals,. it only has misfire problem 50% of time, runs fine the rest of time. it can misfire cold , hot, idle, accelerating , and seems to be worse with a/c on. anyone think its a pcm? cost 400.00 , so kind of hesitant to replace it. thanks for any advice

 

I havea 05 endeavor and keep having having misfire concrrns and started smelling a burnt scent and I had a coil short out , which in return blew my ignition fusesand leftme stranded in atlanta .

 

it is truly one of the hardest problems i have ever tried to diagnose. something is causing the coil to overheat. if you figure it out please let me know , thanks

 

Jastihl did any of that help or fix it for a bit? If its burning up coils it's wiring or the ecm ( very unlikely) a bad valve can create a miss and can be intrmitant as well
