Cam bore O-ring(s)
Hi all. Recently got an '04 Endeavor LTD. Had oil leak from both valve cover gaskets. Replaced those (and plugs and seals that were swimming in oil) Sunday. Still a leak on driver's side now. Did a search and found no info on the Endeavor 3.8L, but did see references to the Montero 3.0 and 3.5 about the cam bore o-rings. In the Montero post they refer to a passenger side and driver's side o-rings. Not familiar with the Montero, but I am assuming the 3.0 or 3.5 there are not transversely mounted as my Endeavor's 3.8 is? So when they talk about the passenger side being the most likely to go as it does not have a sensor, that would correspond to my driver's side rear. And my driver's side front (their driver's side) has a sensor? They talk about being able to do both from the top, but not much room. It looks like I have to drain the coolant to remove the hose to get to mine.
So my questions are:
The engine orientation of the Montero (head-on) and Endeavor (transverse) is correct, so my 2 plates are as I described?
Do I have to drain the coolant to get to mine, or is their another way?
Is the o-ring p/n 176208 given for the Montero the same I need?
And do I have 2, and if so, the same o-ring is used for both sensor and sensor-less openings?
Thanks
