i'm having the weirdest problem. last night my endy shut down for no apparent reason. i was under heavy traffic, almost stopped when suddenly my battery light started blinking on and off for a while until the engine shutted off. i was able to turn it on, make an u-turn to where there was no traffic and as long as i could accelerate the truck everything was fine. so i immediately suspected it was the alternator. i noticed that while idle the revolutions were really low, and the problem would reappear with the battery light coming up intermittently until the engine would shut down. today i started the truck and decided to turn on the a/c and other accessories (lights, radio, etc.) and as this seemed to increase revolutions (the a/c at least) the problem would go away and the truck would seem stable (no light, no shutting down).

do you guys still believe it is still the alternator? what else could it be? any help would be greatly appreciated.

It sounds like your battery is simply gone dead in the vehicle. You need to take it to an auto parts store to have the battery tested, or remove the battery and carry it in for testing.

 

i'm leaning towards the tps or iac valve. most definitely not the car battery as it is about 4 months old.
