anti theft malfunction

anti theft malfunction
I have an '05 Endeavor and the anti theft system appears to have some sort of malfunction. It appears to activate without locking the doors. So if I leave the door open for more than 30 sec and open the door back up it'll keep going off. 
Any ideas that might not include taking it to the dealership?
