Default Endeavor 2005 timing belt change

Hello all and thank you in advance.
My "05 Endeavor has 61k and it's recommended that I have the timing belt replaced. Can I reasonably expect another 5k or so before I am not endangering the car?
Thanks!

Default I waited untill 90K, but....

Adamiecjr1,

I waited until 90k to do mine, and it was doing fine. Unfortunately, I was arrogant enough to try and replace it myself, after all, I'd replaced them on my other cars in the past. This I don't recommend. After two months of shop time (waiting on parts, wrong parts, and machining), $6k out of pocket, I learned my lesson. The Endeavor has a (shutter) interference engine, which means if the timing belt breaks (or you install it wrong), the engine will damage itself. New valve guides and valves will be needed.......
