Misfire Help

Happened to be a cold morning and my Endeavor (07) misfired. It knew it when the check engine light came on since it has happened before. I went and got it checked out at Autozone (misfired cylinder 5). I'm not really mechanical inclined but do have basic knowledge about cars. The autozone guy told me to give it some time and see if the light will go off. Is there any way to reset the check engine light or does the dealer have to deal with it?

My first post here but I'll take a crack at helping you out...
You can reset your "Check Engine Light" using most code scanners. A lot of auto parts stores are beginning to refrain from doing this for you due to liability issues.
It could be your spark plugs simply need replaced, or a wire is loose..but more than likely your #5 coil pack is shot. I just had to replace that very coil pack on my daughter '06 Endeavour.
Best of luck!

What a coincidence! I had a misfire ('04 Endeavor) on a cold day a few days ago also. The check engine light went on a I also took it to Autozone to have them check it -- cylinder 2 misfire. About a day later, the check engine light went off and the car is driving fine. Should I do something about this?
