Default Power steering lacking

Hello all, I have a 2006 Endeavor I just purchased. I noticed during the test drive that power steering was lacking when exitingtheparking spot it was in. After getting over a few mph, it worked just fine. At the time, I checked the fluid reservoir and it was at the minimum level. I refilled it, and it seemed to fix it. Today when my wife was driving it, she is complaining of the same thing. She checked the fluid level, and it is still full. I do not think there is a leak in the system. Any advice? Is this a known/accepted problem?

Check: Tire pressures,tie rod ends,ball joints,strut mounts.
You didn't state mileage and known maintenance of car.
Hit me back if none of these are the issue(s).

Addendum: On my daughters car,'04; I found out the idler pulley was almost 'frozen'!
This was causing a jerky steering effort at low speeds/revs. Might look into that,as well.

I'll check the pulley. Thanks so much! Will update with other info requested as well. As far as maintenance, the car was used and did not come with maintenance paperwork.
Update mileage is currently 212,135.

Default I was having the same issue

Mine was doing the same thing ! until I fund out the hard way Man my power steering was just not doing anything I was turning left and the car went off then I placed it i Park and gave it a try it finally started but the steering was shot completely I drove like that for a couple days until I checked my fluid reservoir and it was fine so I thought maybe was my power steering pump then I noticed that my serpentine belt was half melted so Im hoping that, you check the belt may be giving up on you there's a tricky way in the tension , you can do it yourself.

Hi. Did you read the prior posts of problem/remedy?
Check your pulley(s).
