rough idle hard to start when engine hot
Recently saved a poor endeavor from the crusher.
Wonderful condition and a new trans but has a nasty misfire
p0300 in freeze frame data and p0403
first issue i noticed was the coils and plugs were covered in oil so i cleaned it all out, took it for a drive and she ran amazing the idle was immaculate til i shut it off and tried to start it back up..
Cranked a ton til the tach barley crept up when it finally chose to turn over (struggled very badly).. it ran really rough sputtered home and skipped at idle..
This happens very often.. it will always start first thing in the morning then start running like ****, if i shut it off while its misfiring it will always struggled to turn back on. crank and crank and crank but no power to turn over.
Theres rare occasions where the car will run like absolutely nothing is wrong and my check engine goes off and it will start normally.
Iv never seen or heard of and egr valve cause this issue but i guess ill look into it.
(((UPDATE I HOPE THIS HELPS SOMEONE OUT THERE.))
(( more people should really check these valves before replacing fuel pumps and god knows what else)
I noticed that my car would suddenly start to misfire when driving at slow speeds or coasting BUT driving around the block "differently" would sometimes correct it? I dont know but.. lets say i heavily montiered how my car was acting for a week and i think it was sticking open.
so yes It was the egr valve the entire time!! A friend suggested unplugging it but i did it a certain way..
Drove til It stopped misfiring (guess the egr finally closed), shut off my car then unplugged it. and boom she started right back up and no more misfiring! I havent had a single issue ever since. starts, runs, drives immaculate!! such a difference. Iv tested it out real good all month and can confirm it was the problem.
ill now keep racking up miles and sleep better knowing that stupid thing isnt secretly killing my engine anymore!! . 200 thousand miles here i come (:
