Mine currently has 306000 miles. No major work other than timing belt valve cover gaskets and take gasket and things like that wheelbearings. Just wondering how long this transmission was last.

Did all required maintenance, always premium fuel, synthetic oil & ceramic graphene coating after 250k. Sea foam in engine and fuel, Platinum plugs too, they seem to make a big difference as miles got higher. And used a coolant additive to lower operating temp, performed better after it, so kept doing it

Just bought a 2005 XLS family owned 2nd Owner with 114535 miles. All reccommended services, Timing belt at 90k. Sunroof but doesnt want to open only tilt, sub in back is loose and heat only works on half probably blend door issue i posted in another thread but all in all its a great little SUV. It was purchased new by a family member and she has barely driven it over the last 20 years so i think im pretty lucky. Just need to work out the few kinks it has but a;; in all I am super happy with it!!

Default Watch out for the shifter cable

[QUOTE=cruz4mitsu;315140]Hello. I recently bought a 2004 Endeavor limited with 210,000 miles. Got a great deal on in private party, one owner, overall looks well maintained. Should I be concerned about high miles on this vehicle? What's your year and mileage? I really love the ride and feel of this vehicle so much that I am going to let my husband drive our 2014 Outlander as his commuter 😀. Hope the endeavor can last me awhile.[/QU

Greetings. I've got a 2011 Endeavor. The problem I ran into was a broken shifter cable. About a year ago it broke and I couldn't move the shifter into Park. The tow truck driver had to pull the vehicle onto the flatbed. When we got to the Mechanic, He took off the air box and did something to get the shifter to work again. He tried getting a new shifter cable but no junk yards had one. They were all broken. I tried my local junk yards and they were broken too. The part isn't manufactured by Mitsubishi anymore since the model is discontinued and it appears that shifter cable breakage was common. The shifter cable you have was manufactured from the 2004-2011 model years. The Mechanic ended up welding the cable together with the understanding that he didn't know how long that will last and that I should find an unbroken shifter cable. I'm still looking. Every junk yard that has Endeavors have broken shifter cables so far.

Hello, welcome.
They can be dependable. I have an '04 w/218K. No real big problems.*
Mine rusted out dangerously at the rear subframe-X mount. This holds all the rear suspension and driveline.
>This is a MUST to have checked out! Cannot always tell with a quick looksee. If the car has been driven in snowbelt w/ salt or saltbrine on roads, definitely get checked thoroughly!
Other than Timing belt and components changed promptly when due, nothing out of ordinary : oil and filter changes @5K intervals, Transmission drain and fill at 50K intervals.
Hopefully prior owner did all these and gave you service records to confirm.
DO check engine oil level at least every 1000 miles, can burn some oil.
Best,Jeff

Hi., mine too broke the shifter cable. It broke off at/on transmission top where it connects to the "Park-Neutral Drive" position switch.
It appears that water gets under the plastic coating on cable at pivot/connection and corrodes to the point it fractures.
My mech welded a bolt on the end,at 90 degrees up, a nut and large washer on it; placed it 'up' into switch with another large washer and 2 nuts to lock it in.
4mos. and all is good.
