Okay I'm new to this site and just bought an 03 evo with 27k on it and thrilled to finaly have one . Big difference compared to my eclipse gst 99. well I bought this car in Conneticute from Carmax and ever since I had it i've had my check light on and they keep saying its egr code " egr flow insufficent " So far they did the egr now they are doing the solinod. Is this a common problem for evo's or did i get myself a lemon. Also what are guys getting for average gas miles . I'm getting like 22 mpg right now on the average. Another thing what problems should i prepare myself for as a work on my evo to make it faster. are there any driveline issues cause i'm hearing alot of clicking and weird noise's that seem to be coming from my drive train. Now is this normalwith awd cars spieciftly evo's. hope to hear some answers and get along of info from ya'll

 

22 mpg seems normal...but PM or talk to Emonz...he the evo around here

 

22 MPG is not bad.. All stock I was getting about 230 miles highway to a tank then 200 on city. You dont have a lemmon. Evos require maintanence often. and the AWD clunks are normal. they make alot of niose just be sure to have the t case fluids done every 6k and the tranny every 6k the rear end every 9k

 

THE CLICKING NOISE IS NORMAL MINE DOES IT TOO. BOUGHT MY EVO VIII WITH 2K AND IT HAS NOW 19K. JUST KEEP THE OIL CHANGED AND CLEAN I USE MOBIL1 15-50 WITH A QUART OF IMPORT LUCAS IT DOES GREAT ON TEMP, AND PERFORMANCE ON TRACK. MOBIL1 5-30 IS OK TOO.
