Default RE: difference in evo's

Evo Viii are rated at 276HP
Evo IX is rated at 286HP

Motor wise the VIII turbo on 03-04 models was a 16G with a 9.8mm hotside, the 05 version was a little bigger with a 10.5 hotside, the IX turbo has a better wheel and also has a MIVEC head

Cosmeticly the IX has different front bumper, slightly differnet wing (its not fully carbon fiber), the dash is all black with either a balck insert or c\f insert the seats are different colors and stiching and the steering wheel has black alluminum. The VIII has black interior with a grey dash insert, has a brushed alluminum steering wheel, has black and blue swuede seats (assuming your not getting SSL) they are all 5 spds except the MR and IX SE

Now SSL mean it has leather and sub woofer and sunroof.

MR is a 6spd it has a alluminum roof and has bilstien shocks instead of mcphearson.

FYI the 6spd is weaker than the 5spd has more issues with over heating and killing syncros

That is all the basic stuff really

So if I wanted to get an evo, I should go for the 03-04 VIII or the IX and not the MR? And where could I look for a god priced evo, maybe somehow trade my eclipse with money for one? which i dont think anyone will do but still.

Your eclipse will not make an Even trade, it in reality wont even come close (no offence) Best places to watch are autotrader and Evolutionm.net classified section.

I would go for a 2005 VIII or a IX. Dont get the MR its to much $$$ and not worth it. The IX SE is worth it. That would be the one I would want If I were to ever get another Evo
