Help deciding what exhaust to get and expect
I guess this should be on the I,H, & E section but I'll take a chance. I'm planning to very soon swap out the factory exhaust on my '06 MR and need some suggestions from knowledgable folks.
I see several tube headers from different mfgr's. I think the ones that have the tubing formedaway from the upper radiator hose would be a wise choice but haven't really seen any on EVO's to tell the difference in quality. Money is not a big factor if I dont have to deal with cracked welds, etc. Can I get some input as to what to buy and what is everyone's favorite? I guess Borla doesnt make one for my '06 MR. Should I get the stud kit too?
I had an '04 RSX-S before my MR. I put a Borla on it and really liked the quality. It was sturdy and well made and sounded nice (it had a resonator). I'm going to keep my MR for a very long time so I need to be wise here too. I want to keep the factory cat but everything in between will be swapped. I don't want an intrusive "tomato can" sound but do want greatflow and a nice, deep growl that doesn't drone inside the car. I don't take the car to the track. Any suggestions here would be welcome. I don't really like the muffler's that are cocked off at an angle, but rather look like they are tucked under the car nicely.
Of course I dont want to space the braces and would like to keep the donut style of bolt up at the O2 housing. What are choices for big diameter downpipes that are tough and will last? Any input?
I hope to get some good suggestions here. Untuned, what will I expect performance wise? And untuned if I put on all of the components will I trip a cel? Next thing is can the dealer tell if I've tuned the engine if I don't do anything drastic (gotta keep that warranty)? Posted linksare welcome.
Thanks

Well most exhaust's i've seen do come out on an angle . Thats just the popluar thing now is that n1/rally look. Apexi world sport comes out straight , but its only slighty better flow. I believe buscher racing and ams have some straight style exhaust that don't angle. Thats a few out there . go to Lancershop.com they got every . amsperformance.com too. machv , extreme motor sports , evomoto.com there tons of places that go things u can look at. header wise . only go with a 1-4/2-3 setup for best performance and only if u plan on an upgraded verison of ur stock turbo , otherwise save the money get like a garret 50 trim . which will include header and downpipe. So my best advice is look around the sites. go here and check out the venders http://forums.evolutionm.net/forumdisplay.php?f=107
it comes out at an angle for a reason. It keeps from adding one more small bend.If you have it exit straight then your restriting it SLIGHTLY so most companies dont do it
