Anyone who says the EVOs stock turbo lags alot is friggen retarded. Keiths stock twins on his RX7 never spool till 4000 or a little more his new To4r doesnt spool till like 5000 I have full boost instantly compaired to his car.

Yeah when i was in for my 30K mile check up they had an Evo 8 in the showroom (this was early last year). I just kept walking around it with my jaw dropped...i climbed in to see what it was like, pretty similar to a lancer, but then again, it was parked. haha. this guy noticed me stalking the car so we talked...I think he wouldve let me test drive it had it not been the only one they had and in the show room. So he showed me the new Eclipse, whatever the top of the line model is...he let me drive it up the highway, unfortunately it was an automatic, but damn, that thing was still freakin fast. Not as much fun as the Evo (just a hunch) but for an auto it kicked ***. In reply to the topic heading, yes, i want an evo too.

Wait a second, the Evo losing in this video isn't due to Turbo-Lag. Turbo-Lag is the delay of the turbo to spool because there isn't enough exhaust gas pressure when you initially punch the accelerator. This happens for around 2 - 5 seconds usually. What were talking about when the Evo loses to the Fiat is boost response. It's the lack of Exhaust gas to spool the turbo at low rpms.

My EVO hits full boost right at 3000 that is fast spool if you ask me.

I miss the low rpm spool of my stock turbo but i love the power my 35r gives me when i finally hit full boost at 4100 to 4200.
