Default Im thinking of picking up an Evo

Hey guys,

Im new to imports, ive been domestic since I started driving. I have a 2005 v6 mustang ( insurance is why I took a six) and im looking to for a change. My passion is cars, I love speed and I have always loved evo's. So, in a couple months plan to get one. I dont mean to be this blunt, but how nasty is the evo with basic bolt ons?

basic bolt ons on an evo VIII... (thinking basic i think of turbo back exhaust [TBE], intake, and boost controller. i had a friend w/ a viii w/ this setup before he had to get rid of it and was putting apx280 to the wheels. w/ a reflash its putting about 310-320 down. the IX's are still about 25k and up but since they have a 20g turbo and a couple of other diferences than the VIII's they take mods a lot better. same boltons along w/ a flash tune and you're looking at apx 340-350whp.

Mike correct me if my numbers are a lil off but this is what i recall reading... or in the ballpark.

The numbers are pretty accurate, however the Evo IX comes with a larger 16g turbo, not a 20g turbo.

Before you purchase an Evo run $$$ numbers to make sure you can afford everything. Most importantly, get an insurance quote because they're expensive.
