no matter how you look at it the T case is not a cheap fix even doing the work yourself by pulling it out and putting a new one in. That is the whole reason I dont launch my car and I would never go to the dealer if I do blow out the T case that is asking to be raped

Yo guys, I appericate the advice. The AMS my buddy told me about was some atlantic motor-sport store, I definately dont think it was Auto Moto Sports. As far as the Transfer Case, I was looking up on it and it's expencive. All I really know about the T case is that it destributes power between the front and rear wheels. Is that all to it? How do you tell when your T case is gone?

I went to the raceway in my area last week and talked with a couple of guys about launching Evo's. They said the best way to get a good launch and keep your clutch and transfer case is to hold the engine at 2000 rpms. Once the light turns green, floor the gas pedal and when the tachometer reaches 3300 rpms let out the clutch quickly. This should give you a decent launch because the butterfly in the throttle body is completely open, your turbo is spooling, and your pretty high in the torque output.

Yes, my Evo 9 has launch control limited to 5,000 rpm. The reason for this is to prevent you/me from tearing the axles or transfer case out of our car. You can still get a good launch by burning the clutch a little bit. It takes some time to get a launch perfected on an all-wheel drive car so don't get frustrated with the Subaru's. Just out of curiousity, how much are Subaru's pulling you by? I would try racing the Subaru's from 20mph-40mph rather than a dead stop. This would prevent your car axles and transfer case from being torn up and would take away the launch factor. There are ways to disable the launch control but I wouldn't unless you're rolling in money.

Me personally, I haven't raced a Subaru yet so I can't say I can smoke em but I've been to the drag strip and pulled a 12.92 in the quarter mile for my best time. The other two were 13.80 (bad launch) and a 13.41 (don't know). I think my Evo is running 300 horsepower. I'm getting an exhaust this week. Once I install it I'll take my car back to the track and see what improvement it provides...if any.

thank you for your prompt answer extreme!

the Subaru gets about 3 cars in front of me from the start (

I can also start at 6500 rims by moving the car a little bit, then stop it and I've got a gap for 3 seconds in witch I can start how do I want...with this kind of start I've pulled 12,6 sec/quarter of mile witch is super...

the mods of my car are not many (new car, warranty etc): the first cat changed with an EVO 8 cat(looks the same from outside, but it's much more better), and the second one removed

I also have an K&N air filter in the original car's box..

I can't bring any more modifications on my car, because I will lose my warranty if the guys from Mitsubishi dealer will find out [:'(][:'(]

life sucks here from that point of view
